My Art Portfolio
ART JOURNALS
All of my art journal pages are done in mixed media. For the most part, I love to do these collaged pages in water colors, water color pencil, regular color pencil, Inks, collaged found images, song lyrics, poems, journal entries, tissue paper, newspaper, stamps, mod podge glue, designed cocktail napkins, etc. I do these out of pure enjoyment of the process of taking different mediums and mashing them all together to create fun whimsical imagery! |
ACRYLIC PAINTINGS
WATERCOLORS & CHILDREN'S BOOK ILLUSTRATION
I do most of my illustration work in watercolors and water color pencils. I recently completed Illustrating a 28 Panel Tree Poem Story which is currently pending publishing. You can see a behind the scenes video of my children's book watercolor painting process and a review of my woodless watercolor pencils in my video HERE!

FIGURE DRAWING
All of my figure drawings here are done in charcoal on newsprint paper and then cut out and collaged onto Arches Block watercolor paper which was then bound together and displayed as a book. It was done as a project in my figure drawing class when I was in art school. It's a medium I don't work too much in anymore, but I loved the experience of drawing a live human form.! Some of these were timed "Gesture" Drawings, where we only have one minute to capture each pose in a lose sketch form. A few of the others were more lengthy poses in which I was able to render the figure with shadows and details.

FANTASY PHOTOGRAPHY & DIGITAL MANIPULATIONS
All of my fantasy photography is taken with a Nikon D40 SLR. I then load the photos into Photoshop where I
"manipulate" the images, and collage them with photo stock, brushes & stamps, along with many different layers, color correction, and textures to create themes of fantasy, fairytales, and even dark macabre. |
BLOG PHOTOGRAPHY
The photography on my blog is based off of projects I am working on, events that I attend, recipes that I LOVE experimenting with, books I love reading, and nature that I love to marvel at. I love capturing the magic in everyday, in my photography!
